For the last three years, Matt and I have discussed traveling to somewhere. It started as a trip around the world...that was a very brief moment. We realized the cost and the disruption it would cause our lives, and we decided a European Adventure was more our speed. After much talking, planning, saving, it's only 6 weeks until we step aboard that plane, and the anticipation is building.
We're going for five weeks, and I pray that we come back as good of friends as when we begin the trip. Luckily for us, we won't have to spend the whole time just the two of us. (As much as we love each other, we're smart enough to know that five weeks in foreign countries just the two of us could spell disaster.) Mandy will be with us the first two weeks. When Mandy leaves, Aaron and Melissa will spend the next 9 days with us. Then we'll have a week and half on our own.
My biggest concern right now is packing. I'm obsessed with finding any and every possible item we may need. I can't stay off the Magellan's website. I convince myself I need every item on there. Also, I am trying to narrow down the clothing I'll take. I started buying clothes "for Europe" a year ago. I have now bought more "Europe" clothing than I can take with me. That hasn't stopped me from buying more. This is definitely Mandy rubbing off on me.
Matt's biggest concern is planning what we'll do over there. He sent Mandy and me an itinerary for the first four cities. It's quite overwhelming. It looks like we'll be packing five days worth of things into every two days. (I think we'll wear out quickly.) However, I think he just wants to be sure we get over there with a plan, so we aren't stucking wondering what to do, where to go. He's also been learning Spanish which he seems to really be enjoying.
